Roisin and Martin, as a brother and sister partnership, form a strong team with complementary skills. Roisin, a registered architect with extensive experience in design and planning, heads the design and planning aspects of the practice. Her creativity and keen eye for detail shine through in every project, as she crafts inspiring spaces that seamlessly blend form, function & beauty; giving ideas and insight into making your spaces work harder for you. Roisin’s passion for design and her ability to understand clients’ unique needs allow her to create truly personalised and innovative solutions.
Martin, with his background as an architectural technician and a BA in Architecture from the Art College Belfast, brings both technical brilliance and a deep appreciation for design to the table. As a certified Passive House Designer and Trades Person, he ensures that every project is not only visually appealing but also energy-efficient and sustainable. Martin’s technical expertise perfectly complements Roisin’s creative vision, ensuring that each design is not only beautiful but also practical and buildable.
Their approach, “Designing a Better Future Together,” goes beyond environmental sustainability. They combine personal development with architecture to help clients identify their wants, needs, and must-haves, enabling them to live the life they dream of.

MARTIN MARSHALL
BA (Hons) Arch NLPP Passive House Designer
Martin is an architectural technician with over 20 years of experience in the industry. He holds a BA in Architecture from the Art College Belfast and is a certified Passive House Designer and Trades Person. Martin has worked for some of the top architectural practices in Northern Ireland on award-winning projects up to £105 million, with a particular interest in environmental and thermal performance.
To further his knowledge in cost-effective environmental construction, Martin worked for a PassivHaus registered builder. He has also trained with Passive House Ireland in ‘thermal bridging’ calculations and has worked on several Zero Carbon Houses, including his own, which won the ‘FMB Energy Efficient House of the Year UK’ award – a first for Northern Ireland. Martin has been involved in PassivHaus since 2010.
Alongside his architectural career, Martin has a background in personal transformation and mentoring business start-up’s, having trained with and been mentored by some of the biggest names in the personal development world. He is interested in helping create social change.
In his personal life, Martin enjoys an active lifestyle, regularly investing in his home, health, and relationships. He values spending quality time with his family, staying physically fit, and continuously learning from the best in his areas of interest.

ROISIN McCANN
RIBA RSUA MRIAI
Roisin is a registered architect with extensive experience in design and planning. She qualified in December 2008 and quickly became a Director at a North Antrim practice, where she worked on a wide variety of schemes, including house extensions, refurbishments, one-off houses, housing developments, retail units, and hotels.
After a short hiatus to raise her children, Roisin partnered with her brother Martin to establish Marshall McCann Architects. Coming from a construction family, Roisin was exposed to the industry from an early age, learning about the challenges of old buildings and the impact of the built environment on quality of life. She believes that buildings should be both beautiful and functional, with energy efficiency and thermal comfort being intrinsic to the design.
Roisin studied architecture at Queens University Belfast, receiving one of the highest marks in her year. Her work has been published in newspapers and architecture magazines, and she has spoken at Belfast Design Week. Passionate about encouraging women within the industry, Roisin is committed to creating healthy and comfortable environments that stand the test of time.
In her personal life, Roisin values building connections, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and finding a balance between work and leisure. She enjoys spending quality time with friends and family – especially over dinner and a glass of wine – a gentle 5k Park run, or some yoga, and painting some expressive art.
Roisin has extensive experience in practice, mainly in design and planning issues. She is a RIBA Conservation Registrant.
