Congratulations! David recently passed his Passive House Designer examinations, and is now a Certified Passive House Designer.

The Passive House Designer exams equip our designers with the knowledge to design to Passive House standard.  The benefits of Passive House include: low energy costs, thermal comfort, prevention of over-heating, the air quality within the house, etc.  In addition, our designers understand the benefits of reducing thermal bridging (preventing heat loss from the building), and understand the theory about how to design thermal bridge free junctions.

The quality of a Passive House, or PassivHaus, is checked by detailed calculations, which work out the heat loading requirements, and the requirements for ventilation and solar shading (to prevent over-heating).
